Dear Faithful Readers (and promiscuous readers as well),
I have been very gratified that this audience for this blog has been growing and from the tone of the comments, includes some thoughtful and interested readers.
Now I am going to screw things up a bit, and I apologize in advance. From now until the evening of August 7, I’m going to be posting at a lower volume (my goal is at least 2 a day).
I am going on a family holiday, namely, on a cruise per the wishes of my recently widowed mother. As much as I like my relatives in small doses, I am likely to need a lobotomy or some very strong brain altering chemicals to get through this with my sanity intact. And while many of you would probably love to be on a cruise and think I am petty to be kvetching, it’s just not my idea of how to travel. But as cruises go, it’s a nice one, and so will likely exceed my expectations.
The ship has satellite, so technology willing, I should be able to stay somewhat in touch.

You’ve got my sympathy on this one. Being trapped on a cruise ship with family would not be my idea of a “fun” vacation.
