We are three and a half hours away from the end of our fundraiser. In just the past two hours, we’ve gotten quite a few generous donations, as in several $250, $150, and $100 contributions,) as well as a lot of $10 and $25 donations. It’s particularly gratifying to get support from readers we know from comments as well as fellow writers/bloggers (for instance, Bruce Krasting and Stuart Zechman, as well as George Bailey from Occupy the SEC). And the total number who’ve given in the last hour is again higher than the hour before that.
I’m thrilled at the response. We’re close to both our donor and financial targets. We are at 940 donors towards our goal of 1000 and at $2900 towards our last goal of $8500 for intern support (read here why they aren’t free!). Let’s see if we can meet these goals before the close of this effort, midnight PDT. Thank you Yves and Lambert. Will give more when I can. I look at your site everyday and am glad I live in Oz. You live in a scary place and I know you are making a difference by exposing all the fraud and corruption that goes on there and elsewhere in the world. I am a wiser man for your work.
If you want Yves doing what only Yves can do — like writing and going on the radio and the teebee — then please pitch in for the interns.
Just to say that in the wee hours of the morning (where I am) I finally got around to donating a few FRNs (or USD as they are quaintly known) and have a warm feeling ever since. I sometimes feel my whole life is a charitable enterprise (that’s another tedious story) but rather than give to e.g. the Red Cross or other behemoth ‘charities’ (with their $500K per year executive salaries) I much prefer to support small groups or projects like this one. And it has been well worth $100 to read Lambert’s forensic analysis of the Obamacare clusterfsck!
