Come and meet cool and colorful people! Members of the NC community have reported that they enjoy getting to know other readers, as well as having lively conversations.
For Los Angeles, it seems no meetup time or place is optimal, given the spread of the city and its traffic, so I hope this compromise works for at least some of you. If not, we’ll have a very intimate gathering!
Since I understand traffic usually gets ugly starting at 3:00 PM, readers wanted to meet in LA on the early side. So let’s start at noon.
We’ll meet at the airport Hilton. One of the reasons for picking an airport hotel is the parking should be reasonable by LA standards.
We’ll congregate in the lobby lounge. The staff says you can order food from the hotel restaurants which are just off the lobby, so people who want to get a nosh, as opposed to just a coffee or a brunch-type drink, should have a good range of options.

For San Francisco, the following Tuesday, July 18, we’ll use a venue that seems to work well for readers: the Press Club. I’ve booked a table and we all crowd in. You might need to commandeer stools from other sections of the Press Club but it’s all worked out fine in the past.

See you soon!
On a future West Coast trip, why don’t you come over to Tucson?
I’m digging how yves and lambert are now holding bernie-style rallies around the country!
What time will the LA mtg end?
Thanks.
Formally it will be noon to 3:00 PM. Didn’t set a closing time because I can go a bit later.
Great. Wife and I should get there before then.
Excellent!
Phooey! Missed the last SF meet up and will miss this one too. Pesky job!
:-(
Drat! Yet again I will miss this. Much appreciate the efforts to host these and run this site.
If you could move the LA meeting 3 or 4 miles west, it would be a lovely (inexpensive) location.
What time does the meeting in LA get going?
Noon!
So are you headed for Portland? (We can always hope.)
I want to do more meetups but they take a lot out of me (and the budget). But yes, I most assuredly want to do Portland.
I will see you there.
