As reader DJG pointed out:
Chicagoans (and those who don’t work downtown): The nearest subway stop would be Grand on the Red Line, although that is about five blocks west of D4 Pub.
The 146 bus is handy for getting to Streeterville. It runs on Michigan Avenue at that point. So does the 148.
D4 notes that its entrance is on Grand Avenue, in spite of the Ohio Street address. I recall having to circle the building the first time I went there.
Planning to attend in Chicago. I will wear a name tag–maybe on a lanyard, given that I have to attend the occasional conference and receive the invevitable lanyard, which then goes to waste unless I can wear it around the neighborhood.
Also, my Hello Kitty button, which should place me firmly and obviously along the political spectrum.
And the veggie burger at D4 is pretty good.
But the conversation undoubtedly will be enlightening and perspective-twisting. I’m looking forward to the meetup.
Very much looking forward to seeing NE Ohians and others from around the wider region at Bar Cento on Wed. Eclair, I really hope you can make it.
For anyone who needs incredibly convenient and reasonably priced accommodation to spend the night, the Cleveland Hostel is a two-minute walk from Bar Cento. Also, as Andy pointed out in a comment on a previous post about the Cleveland meetup, the historic West Side Market is right across the street — great for a look-see as well as for stocking up on groceries. The parking lot you are directed to above is actually the lot for the market.
I’m very excited about seeing everyone!
I know that there is an Economics Club at the U of K Missouri where from comes modern macroeconomics. I tried to get vetting for my model to become a Economics Club exercise. I sent letters. You really need youth to take up your ideas if they are to become more real.
My year at Kenwood Sr. High set me on my path in life and I hope I can somehow get someone who is either a student or teacher to attend the Meet Up. It is Monday the 10th. I’ll make a note to call the school about 1:30 PM tomorrow. Getting some High School students on the path of economics writing would be a good thing.
The has to be some kid who is unaware of their destiny or have no idea at all how to begin to fulfill their destiny in economics and finance. Kenwood was the best of the three high schools I attended. I am glad D4 has worked out.
